Well Belle got her second set of jags yesterday at 5 o'clock. by half six one of her eyes had started to close slightly. At first I thought she had just had a sore one in a carry on with Tess (they make US wince sometimes), by half 7 both eyes where swollen, so we phoned the vet. We had to take her back up to the vets at 8 o'clock for a callout, turns out she had taken an allergic reaction to the vaccination. She needed a steriod jag to sort her out. She's fine now, though!! Everything is back to normal, and by that I mean it's mayhem and chaos here with her and Tess again. Very Happy

Oooh that would have been worrying! Glad she's all right now though. I hope the vet has made a note about the particular vaccine and batch no. used for future reference. Poor girl!

The vet put a note in the computer so she can get a different brand next year, but we'll still remind them when the time comes. They didnt charge us the callout either, the company who makes the vaccine will foot that I believe, as they want to know of every dog who takes a reaction.

otto was allergic to the catgut they used to stitch him up after the cruellest cut! Added insult to injury to have a big swelling when in fact, there was nothing there.

dd you know that all the different brands of vaccinations have different life spans, ie one will lat your dog for the year, others will last your dog anything up to 5 year. i
t was in the kennel & cattery mag my boss gets.

That's interesting Kendal, maybe worth some research.
