Sheryl - their fights were THAT serious they needed the vets Shocked OMG! What did you do that finally snapped them out of that behaviour and allowed them to tolerate each other enough to live together? Confused Sounds like it was a war zone for a while - and looking at those pictures of them as pups they looked as if butter wouldn't melt! Thank God I've never had to go through that (though without crates I suspect I might well have done).

Aw Sheryl!!!!!! Thankfully we've only come to pre-fights in this house- snarling, lunging, teeth going in for bites - each time it has been Ella starting it and each time it has been over treats. Evil or Very Mad Or the odd Sunday lunch which IS again a treat Evil or Very Mad Each time I was there monitoring and each time I got in the way - none of mine would dare bite me - I even frighten myself when I shout Embarassed
So now it's either cages for treats OR they all have a spot in the lounge, their own bed to lie on until treat is devoured and none are allowed to move until the last scrap of treat has been demolished. Ella is, of course, at my feet - she's never allowed out of my sight or reach if treats are around and NO cats are allowed in the room until treats are over otherwise they'd BECOME a treat Rolling Eyes

I have to say I've only relaxed the cage for treats rule (even though the girls STILL run to their cages when they hear the treats cupboard opening) in the last 6 months or so. Ella has calmed down considerably with her temper since being "done" the other 2 were never a problem bless them they'd happily share and also since I have grown ever more confident over reading Ella and stepping in to correct her before anything happens - knowing I CAN stop it once it's started has been a huge confidence boost too.

What triggers your boys off? Have they been neutered and if so has that made any difference at all? Confused Which one is Keono by the way? The fluffy or the smooth haired one?

Im glad you have managed to control them good on you!

The problem with my two is they dont growl or circling each other anything like that at with each other so there is no waring at all when it happens it just happens!!

They have never intentionally bitten me or anything like it, ask the people at class....its not the first time I have pinned Keano to the floor and bit him! Sounds ridiculous but its only what there mother (pack leader) would do.

I have come to accept that you can take advise off of everyone but in the end you do what is need to maintain your role as pack leader, I've done this since the boys were pups and they react well to it, even when i play fight with them at times I'll put my mouth over there's and they never retaliate, I wouldn't recommend my ex partner to do this to them however, as he docent have the bond that I have with them!

Keano is the black and white one, smooth fur....Coby more like a collie with the fluffy hair and ginger.....Keano is the more dominant of the two, however generally comes out worse....Coby its looks like butter wouldnt melt but when they get into this fighting mode, I can bring Keano round pretty quickly however Coby holds grudges!!

They have both had their nuts chopped, and this has made a huge difference. Its nothing in particular that starts it with them, trust me I have looked and looked for signs and questioned myself after the fights have stopped, John etc and myself have just put it down to sibling rivalry!

xxxx
