Hi all, Bex got his second jag last night Sad he was a bit out of it later on. Cant wait to get him out and about next week, the fresh air and burning up some of his energy will be great for him Laughing
Any tips on taking him outside for the first time ??

You will really enjoy getting him out and about.... and showing him off Smile
Just don't go anywhere too busy for the first few walks and let him get use to his new surroundings.
Keep him on the lead in case he gets a fright at anything and takes off Shocked ... You could put him on a long line if you go somewhere he can get a run about... that way you've still got control of him and hes safe.
Take some treats with you when you go for walks... they help to get the pups attention for walking to heel and sit/stay before crossing a road.... and in the future when you can let him off for a run... treats will encourage him to come back to you. Don't make a fuss of any situations or things that you might meet, that Bex is wary of ... just act positively and calmly and then he'll know that its fine Smile AND enjoy your walks.... the 1st of many Very Happy

Tricia pretty much covers it for me.

All I would add is to be confident. You are in charge.

Bex will learn from you.

Can't add much to what tricia & Jack have already said other than to just add more encouragement to relax and enjoy yourselves. Just make sure YOU set the pace and let him know you are in control from the outset - it'll make your walks as he grows bigger and stronger easier and more enjoyable Smile
