I have always fancied having a go at this, think I would prefer it to agility. Saying that all depends on Kiera and her abilities and preferences. I used to do a bit with sheila in the house for fun but wasnt her thing. she likes a run after a Frisbee or ball or a little swim. Has anyone here ever tried it? |

Well, i'm not in to doing it, but I do enjoy watching it!
I went to see Mary Ray at Broxburn a few months ago, it was 'An Evening with Mary Ray'. During the evening she showed us hope she taught some of the doggie dancing moves, like when the dog goes round her backwards. For this, she gets a puppy pen and stands in the middle of while using her voice and treats to encourage the dog to go round.
She also showed us how she accomplished the bow, and the trot (where the front paws come up quite high when trotting).
She used several of her dogs during the evening, the cutest of all was a wee Sheltie puppy called Ozzie.
I have some pictures, i'll post them at some point.
At Crufts this year, we watched quite a bit of the doggie dancing/heelwork to music competitions and displays, they were brilliant to watch! I hope to see some of them next year.
Recently i've also attended a Heelwork to Music workshop at Wizard of Paws in Glasgow. (I also attended a TTouch one aswell, which was good).
I much prefer agility. |

I saw the posters for this. I was out there fitting signs the day before Princess Anne officially opened 'The Scottish Equestrian Centre' in Broxburn.......then again a month latter when Camilla came to open it for the second time They were all running about like headless chickens asking 'do you know who is coming to see us tomorrow'?..........yeah, thats why I'm here busting a gut to get this sign finnished!
I saw loads of dog agility equipment lying around. Great venue........I wouldn't have thought they were into dogs much....all Range Rovers, flat caps and marbles in their mouths.......just my opinin but then again I was there as just a tradesman in a van! _________________ John Thomson

Hi John,
I know nothing about the folk who roam about there!!
When I seen Mary Ray there, that was the first time i'd been to the equestrian centre. |
