I want to tell you a story! Very Happy

I read a story once about a guy. He had a young border collie who was very shy, of everything, didn't like mixing at all, very nervous dog.

His solution to all this was to take the dog down the pub. The dog got very drunk, made friends with everyone and never had a problem with nerves or shyness again.

This is a true story btw...wondered what peoples thoughts were?

Just as well it was a border collie and not a toy type- I believe they can't hold their drink well at all!

i lived in digs for a while with multi pedigree Boxer/ GSD/ Lad. sort of dog who loved whiskey and drunk men. Well she loved men and drink so... She was a rescue dog and her first owner was an elderly widower who took her to the pub with him every day. She could sniff out a pub at 10 miles distance and pull you to it like a demented tractor but an odd drink never seemed to do her any harm so maybe its a good way to socialise your dog. Has Ash visited a pub yet?

Jodie always has a little of Chris's beer on a Sunday!

She absolutely adores it. Mandy is strictly teetotal though and almost literally turns up her nose!

I read a bit in a dog mag a while ago about alcohol and dogs. A small amount of alchohol is enough for a small dog to have fits. It was pretty grim reading actually. I'll rummage through the mags to see if I can find it.

I, personally, wouldn't give my dogs alcohol.

Jodie has been tippling for 10 years - it hasn't done her any harm.

So...based on the above post would you say then that you agree with Enid and that 'small' dogs...or indeed 'toy' breeds are not cut out for alochol on any level?
