Hi guys

The PDSA are near the big asda in Cumbernauld town center today and they are giving all dogs free health checks and free micro chipping. They are parked in the Fleming house car park in a big blue van and anyone can go along.

My two are as fit as fiddles and already chipped but if anyone is interested you should go along.

I hope folk hear about it - I haven't seen it advertised.

The more dogs that can be microchipped the better, obviously, but I fear that those who should really be going will not.

Well our two were up for their free health check. Everything was hunky dory! Very Happy Vet said they had lovely clear sparkly eyes and asked what we feed them. When John told him raw, he was very interested and asked all about it.

Anyway, it was another wee trip out for the Beastie Boys who did their usual and took it in their stride.
Good free service! Very Happy

Anyone else go?

I took both my dogs to this when the PDSA van came to Greenock a couple of months ago. Like you, I already new my dogs were fit and healthy and I am registered with a private vets, but I thought i'd go along anyway as it was a nice day and I had finished work early.

Both of them received received glowing reports from the PDSA nurse.

The vet today suggested that Murphy was very lean ( I keep my two lean on purpose!) and perhaps I should consider changing my food to another brand...what brand do you feed?...raw was my reply

vet: you are only the 3rd person I have met who feeds this way.what do you feed?

me: tripe/heart/liver/kidney......meaty bones etc.

vet: I cannot recommend the raw diet but your dogs look to be thriving on it.........why do you feed this way?

me: my last dog died of cancer aged 3.......there must be a reason and my research led me to believe that diet had perhaps been a contributory factor

vet; have these 2 always been raw ?

me: no

vet; what changes if any have you seen/

me: better coats, cleaner teeth, more energy, brighter eyes, calmer behavior........

vet; very interesting

I cant believe a vet said your dogs were lean, I know what you mean tho about their condition but my vet always told me to stop worrying about my dogs getting thin as they were fine and Pixel a bit fat, yeah I know what a lot of you think but she is quite out of condition for a lurcher Smile
