Well for anyone who has ever incurred a bank charge for going overdrawn or a bounced direct debit or cheque......you will be pleased to hear that the banks LOST their appeal in the High Court today and even better the Court did not allow them 'leave to appeal' this decision.
So if you have ever been hit with a bank charge.......now is the time to reclaim it ......with interest.

After over 15 years with the same bank the cheeky F****** charged me £35 to go overdrawn by NINE whole pounds THEN to add insult to injury they charged an additional £26 for sending me a letter advising me of their extortion!
Guess who has her bank statements handy AND emails from Money Matters.com AND a link to the website proclaiming the Banks outcome at court? And guess who is just about ready to kick some pompous bureaucratic ass?
Ross......as I understand it the Banks have been refused something or other that gives them the right to charge extortionate rates ( OK I confess MY mind wandered too ) but the upshot is, according to Sky News tonight that the Banks are on a loser and the floodgates are about to open _________________ Staffies are my life! I have Dave.........when you are self employed getting hit with charges goes with the territory.......I have sued my Bank and won........question is why can they still have a credit license when I got a decree against them?
Even after I won in Court they refused to pay out....so I had to employ Bailiffs to collect my money!!!!!!!
The fat cats have had their noses in the trough for far too long.
The thing is that my bank charged me unlawfully......as a tax payer I now own a large stake in the bank and also pay for the Court system......and also am paying the banks legal fees to defend it against me the consumer

hmm. blimey john...thats fair return in the end...
i had my barclays account shut when trading went bad...i had defaults against me and the charges were mountin up, in the end the bank closed my account and my credit rating was screwed. Natwest took pity on me after two years, i had an account again, now sailing fine and my credit file is clear after 7 years. however we see RBS on the news a lot, Natwest owns RBS and could do with some assurance that my account isnt about to go squit lol _________________ Quoting Jack: you know me - a complete hopeless case & Sadly - and mark it in your diaries folks as you won't see this happen often - but <gulp> I HAVE to agree with Dave on this.

After the results from both RBS and HBOS showing record losses and then the fiasco of the Exec who quit with a £650K/pa pension at fifty. You have to worry how the banks will recover from all the bad feeling. Lets hope the banks have made provision for the charges and compensation they will need to pay back to all the poor people who have been hit by unjustified charges otherwise it looks like the taxpayer will be paying back the taxpayer
The bank staff who work at branches and in the lower end of salary scale are the ones I feel for they are at risk of losing their jobs and also have lost any savings from share schemes plus they have to face the public who rightly are hacked off with the banks. A colleagues wife had her shares marked for her daughters wedding this year and has lost the lot irony is they need to get credit to pay for the wedding now and cant get it from the bank!!
Sorry to say this but think things are going to get worse before they get better.
On that cheery note going to enjoy the fact thats its Friday and 2 days off to look forward to |
