Poo must be a really interesting topic just now. I've just read a discussion about it on another forum.

Dale went through a spell of trying to get at any horse poo he could find but thankfully has decided its more fun to roll in than eat Evil or Very Mad
Now though his taste has progressed to swan and duck poo at the side of the canal. Mainly to roll in, always with the white side of his face Twisted Evil

I thought it was just one of those annoying puppy things that revolt humans but wouldn't do dogs much harm. Now I've just read that they can get campylobacter, whatever that is, from duck poo and if a horse has been wormed pick up the medication from the poo. Not good

I'm beginning to think its better not to know so much about the problems they can have. You could go nuts worrying about it all.

Now that's interesting!

Our Community Council has contacted NLC Environmental Health dept. in the past regarding horse droppings on the paths and pavements around here. They stated that, unlike dog poo, there is no legal requirement to remove it.

This might just add some grist to their mill!

campylobacter is food poisoning. Ash had it...the wee man got it....his nappies were revolting!

It can, if there are further complications be very dangerous for humans (don't know about the dogs but I am sure if it isn't monitored it gets worse) the only panic I had with Andrew was when he got blood in his nappies, but thats just from inflamation.

He's fine now btw Very Happy

Funny you say that actually cos it was shortly after we took Ash down Strathclyde park that Andrew got ill...and guess what he had been eating!

I try and take the non-wash hand gel with me everywhere now. I am not obsessivly disinfecting everything, but I try be a bit more careful!
