thanks jack i would not have known about her being dehydrated by the look of her eyes. I am pushing fluids all types. She loves a coffee but she wont even take that. I have syringe if all else fails. She is eating so i have been putting fluids in her dinner and she had some ribenna. I know but she wont drink enough water. She ate some ice cream also with water in it.

Excellent find kendal - they look the same to me too and as dogs are forever sniffing the ground and grass it would make perfect sense that these are the areas affected - that could also explain why she vomited - especially if she ate something that had been sprayed - WE would all use doggie friendly ones on our lawns but council do not - they use whatever is most effective both in terms of weed control and cost.

Amanda - she definately needs water - what she has had is nowhere near enough - coffee is no good anyway as that would dehydrate her further so don't be letting her have any. The icecream whilst a good idea to cool her won't give her the fluid she needs just now - Time for a bowl of water and a syringe and get as much as possible, as often as you can possibly manage into her. When my Rosie was ill after her op she was getting 100ml of water syringed into her every 30 minutes - that still wasn't enough but it was all she would tolerate before getting freaked out. Keep on with the cold water dabbings on the affected areas too - if this is indeed a burn type allergic reaction it will only soothe her and help keep her temperature down.

Hope she perks up soon - mention the weed killer idea to your vet - that might help them get this under control quickly - please keep us posted and big hugs & kisses to the patient from me. Wink

just back from the vet bad news. The vet said it is most likely an auto immune disorder. He is blasting her with steroids and anti bio tics. The said they will have to do a biopsy under local and she has to go to some university. I was so upset this morning i forgot most of it.

If it is Glasgow Uni Vet school, she will be fine. They have been great with my previous dogs. I hope Yoda is better soon.

As Lorna said, if she's being referred to the Vet school they are amazing. So caring and nice, Hektor was in good hands there last year. Keep us posted Amanda, thinking about you.

Aw bless her heart - so sorry to hear potentially bad news HOWEVER - NOTHING has been diagnosed just yet - TRY to stay positive babe - she'll be getting top class care and getting to the root of the problem is vital and will help her. So I HOPE your vet is wrong - I HOPE Kendal is right and this is a nasty reaction to a chemical but most importantly I HOPE whatever it is gets diagnosed and she leads a very long and happy life with you on or off medication. Keep us posted hunny - I'll be thinking of you and sending every spare positive thought & wish I can your way. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
