I'm just being nosey and wondered what everyone does for a living.
I'm a foreman Patternmaker for a foundry in Denny. We make engineering and ornamental castings.
Our web site is specialisedcastings.co.uk
I hope you all don't mind me asking, but sometimes nice to know a little more about people. |

Colin has his own business specialising in service, repair and maintenance of commercial dish and glasswashers (in Hotels, Pubs, schools, hospitals etc) all over Scotland. I do the paperwork and invoicing (lucky me!) but it lets me work flexible hours and work from home.

I get in the middle of folks arguing all day!
I work in employment dispute resolution for ACAS....I do conciliation and mediation as the main part of my job. do some roadshows for the organisation too and from time to time do project work, I worked for our head office in London recently for 6 months doing a 'knowledge transfer exercise'. Its a really interesting job with lots of variety....but a bit presurised at present as we are definitely 'economic dowturn proof' the worse the economy, the busier we are.
and the best bit......my office is in one of my spare bedrooms and when Im not out and about, I work from home _________________ "In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog." |

I'm a Facilities Management consultant.... "a what?", I hear you say???
very broad job description for a very broad industry...
<SNIP>
Very diverse and good fun, if not very busy. I enjoy it as it gets me out and about from nuclear submarine bases to council houses in Glasgow...
major stumbling block for me is my young-ish looks and clients thinking I dont have any experience and how could they possibly listen to someone as young as me
good thing is my background is a trade (electrician), so once they find that out, they tend to react to me differently as opposed to some uni graduate straight out of class... although I am that as well!!!
...ok...

I am a Commercial Insurance Broker by day. By night and weekends I work hard at cuddling, loving and disciplining my devil dogs my forum members, training friends dogs (unpaid, purely out of love for them) and also for mine & hubbies own business.
We're in the same trade as John so out of respect for him I won't post a link but we also personalise doggie clothing and associated goods. I work mainly on the sales/marketing/PR/design side - I don't do the geeky stuff - I tell Mark what I want and he sorts it I'm not going to knock what Mark does however as he works for our business full time so is heavily involved in the design, production & despatch - the one thing he will freely admit to is that he is absolutely RUBBISH at Admin - that's what is going to be keeping me very very busy over the next god knows how long trying to sort paperwork out as he keeps stacking it everywhere and I'm only just finding it all just as well I love the old sod eh? _________________ Staffies are my life!
