Make sure she gets to see the parents if possible. Collies are not just like other dogs, even with the training and diet. Its a must to keep their minds busy because if they get bored, they"will" find their own things to keep busy. Walking is a must to keep them fit, but in my opinion the collies mind if what can get into trouble.
This is why so many collies get handed into rescue centers around the country.

Hi Gordon
Not at all, every piece of advice is always welcome from experienced dog owners.I was brought up on the Isle of Lewis so i regularly see just how hard these dogs work and how long they keep going. By boxes i meant someone around most hours of the day and every night, has a secure back garden, lives in a very dog friendly street and plenty of long walks within easy reach and one child who is older. Hope those boxes are ok

I hope I didn't come across as cheaky when I asked that. I just know how much of a hand full they can be, and can catch a lot of people out.
I will keep my eyes and ears open for you.
