Hi folks, so I attended my first class with Mylo today, thanks for the friendly welcome!

Wee bit of back story... I got Mylo from a girl at work whose friend saved him from being dragged round the streets of Hamilton by a degenerate. This was 6th March, so 8 weeks ago. I think he was about 8 weeks when I got him, so he's about 4 months old now and just starting to get his adult teeth. My wife Sam and I already had Sasha, a male whippet cross, he's 10 this year. Mylo was only about 5-6 kg when I got him, now he's about 17kg and growing!

I did think he was a GSD, since we didn't know where he came from. Turns out he's a Shepweiler, same as Tico:)

We live on the outskirts of Newmains and have access to fantastic woodlands where we go long walks every day, morning and night. I'm up at 5.30 am every day to make sure they get enough exercise, can you believe!?! Me neither.

We've been training him as best we can up until now, having the Dog Whisperer on series link on Sky;) So, he's not a badly behaved dog and generally does what he's told. He has a bit of bother coming to me on command in and around the house, but out on walks when off leash he rarely strays more than a few meters, usually hugging my leg. Mylo's really laid back and is very friendly. He's not phased by my sister's kids either, usually just lies down and snoozes as the chaos happens around him. He does love playing with Sasha too, sadly Sasha is becoming increasingly wary of Mylo so play time has dwindled somewhat.

Mylo has a bit of bother with the car, he drools everywhere. I had a towel under his chin in the car over today and by the time we got home it was soaked. He was then sick as soon as he got in. Clearly this is anxiety, any suggestions how to cure him??? He lies quietly on the passenger seat.

Here are some puppy pics from a few weeks back:

Here are some pics of the boys out about 6.30 this morning!

Sorry for the number of pics, some crackers in there though Very Happy

I'll be posting videos and pics regularly, but will keep them to my signature links Smile

Anyway, better get back to the vacuuming. See you next week.

Hi and Welcome, myself and Craig have a one year old gsd named Enzo and i remember John talking about how much your dog looked like Tico today but i know where you could have mistaken him for a gsd as he just looks like that in the first photo but is now looking more like the rotteweiler now, stunning shepweiler you have there Wink

Hiya Steve - BIG welcome from me & my pack of Devil Dogs Very Happy

Mylo is bl00dy GAWJUS!!!!! Cool

The drooling in the car......could be anxiety based but I think not - I think it's motion sickness. My Ella (black girl in my avatar) used to do this ALL the time on EVERY journey no matter how long or short that might be. More often that not she puked over ME....mmmm nice.......NOT!!! Twisted Evil

The thing that cured her? Trading in my beloved Ford Puma for a Rav. So long as she can look out of ALL of the windows and see the horizon her travel sickness isn't quite so bad. She still gets it a little but no more puking and the slobbering & drooling is vastly reduced too Cool
Granted, it's a bit of an extreme solution but if you're looking to change your car bear it in mind Wink

Hi Steve, Mylo certainly looked good today.
Do you ever take him over the moss at Cambusnethan? If so, keep an eye out for me and Bran. We normally go for a walk over there at least once a day.

As for the drooling, depending on what car you have, if you have a hatchback or estate, maybe try him in the boot with a dog guard to stop him coming over the back seat. Add a waterproof liner in the boot and then even if he does make a mess of any kind it will just wash off the liner, and being able to sit up and look around might help him.
