Remember me this time of year!
( A Christmas Plea from the dogs in UK pounds )
Remember me this time of year
In this pound with death so near
Not in a home where I should be
Loving others who love me
I am so sorry to beg and plead
To make you aware of my need
But if I do not desperately try
After 7 days I'll probably die
Alone inside and terribly confused
Lost, abandoned or abused
Do I deserve this terrible fate?
Help me please before its too late!
My days in this pound are flying by
My eighth day here I could die!
Put to sleep without a name!
Because no one cared and no one came!
I want to love, I want to live,
I want to play, I want to give,
I want to be in a loving home
I want a name and to be known
Often healthy I have to ask why
Is no one saying we shouldn't die?
It seems to me a shameful waste
My life destroyed in such haste
I do not want my last day to be
Held by a stranger injecting me
I have no say, I have no voice
Only you can make that choice
When the needle of death is in my leg
I have lost my chance to plead and beg
Lost my hope to tell you why
It's so wrong to let me die.
So finally here is my desperate plea
Won't you please consider me?
If no one comes it will be too late
I can be saved if you choose to DONATE
( On behalf of all the dogs under threat of PTS in UK pounds )

CHRISTMAS SPELLS DEATH FOR MANY LOST AND ABANDONED PET DOGS.
PLEASE GIVE THE GIFT OF LIFE THIS CHRISTMAS
Christmas is a time of peace and joy? Not for many lost and abandoned dogs picked up by the dog wardens and placed in council pounds. Councils are entitled to destroy lost dogs if they are not picked up by their owners within 7 days and at Christmas the pressure to do this becomes greater with increased numbers of dogs abandoned, rescues closed and kennel staff wanting time off to celebrate the holiday. The Doris Banham Sanctuary works tirelessly to save their lives - transporting them to safety and funding emergency kennelling and veterinary treatment to give them safe haven.
PLEASE HELP US TO BRING THEM HOME FOR CHRISTMAS.
PLEASE HELP TODAY BECAUSE FOR MANY OF THEM
TOMORROW WILL BE TOO LATE ! _________________ Regards,
Lorna, Basil & Poppy
