Hi Debbie

we have talked about getting dodge and bob together with your little girl. Chap the door on your way out anytime. Cumbernauld Field is great for my two, its one of the few places where Dodge does not behave aggressively towards other dogs, but he loves other shepherds, he used to live with one when he was a pup, and now of course he has bob. If we were talking any small white breed there would need to be careful introductions. It is only the small breeds he goes for now, I think he might see them as prey, and he has an incredible prey drive - but once introduced - he is ok.

I think we should arrange an informal club walk at Cumbernauld park......good for dogs and owners.....let us know if anyone is up for it.

Cumbernauld Park/Glen is great for walks but far better is the palacerigg/golf course walk, you can do around 2 hours uninterrupted. A lot of folk forget its there (or cant be bothered going there)

Without sounding snobby at Cumbernauld House I come accross so many folk with off lead dogs, which is fine if they are good but usually you find a yorkie or a lab charging up to you and yours etc lol

my two can get like that but they never actually go near any other dogs they run and bark at them then run away.

i think my two are two scared, i think this because Inca got chased by a collie once and was chased a fair distance away from us and started to panic cos she couldn't find us. since then they don't go that far unless something takes there interest but as soon as they notice how far they have gone or when you call them they come flying back.

not taken my two up too palacerigg or even been on the golf cores myself for that matter. another plan for the summer

Hi Laura, mine are probably the dogs you are talking about - or were. They are beginning to listen to me - thanks mostly to the training classes.

I am up for a dog walk. Mine could do with lead work. I generally dump them in the doggiebus and take them to the most uninhabited place I can find - my perfect walk is when I dont come across another dog!! I never have them on a leash unless another dog is approaching.

I would also like to socialise my two with other dogs off leash

but count me in either way.

John had never thought about palacerigg - will give it a go.

I keep meaning to try palacerigg, but im scared to try as there probably loads of rabbits and my two are off lead most of the time so I would have to do lead walking to see what it was like.

Johns hoping the weather stays dry until later in the afternoon as he's wanting to take the beasts up. He was talking the Glen, but I like the idea of Palacerigg. But where do you walk them there that's no getting in the way of people and kids going to see the animals............. would it be near where they have the tree top walkway bit? Is that where you mean?

Thats part of it Marcella, but there are miles of tracks you can follow, course I explored it all on horse back years ago so I used know where they all go to.

We went and took Pixel and Daka, Pixel was her usual 'excited self' and Daka was very good for not getting out much. Allan was shattereed but so was I, I kept saying, we can go this way or the shorter way, 'cept I kept forgetting where they went and ended up the long way Wellll it looks different on foot

Kendal......that was my plan for Tuesday but the footballers were in the park.......could have been front page headlines
But if the field is quiet I'm am all for stopping the walk and letting them stretch their legs
