I learned a fair wee bit about 'disabled' dogs at the weekend.
I have started going with kirsitn to a place called glendrick roost animal welfare centre doing volunteer work.
I leaned a few things Ive never really new.
They have all animals from gerbils to Clydesdale horses.
They have a black lab who was born blind, a few years old now but he goes walks and things off the lead, he chases the other dogs and runs after toys and plays football, i find it quite amazing and there is a dog this brain damage and a kind of autism in a dog, who is a lovely dog but very gentle and has to have things the same constantly.
there is another greyhound who was born with a deformed paw and backbone which should have been destroyed at birth due to coming from racing parents but was kept and is apparently not much slower than a greyhound with four normal legs.
Its a good place and quite inspiring to see these dogs and other animals who are so well trained and you wouldnt think they had any problems when you see how they act.
If anyone wants to read anythin about them heres a link
Yeah i think most of the animals there were supposed to be put down because no one wanted them. it is a great place and you get to see all different animals, only thing is because they don't have a proper centre just now or enough land so all the animals are in 5 different places lol so a bit of a trek. _________________ Kirstin and Craig & Ollie and Maxxy
