We are still having the problem of Kiera pulling at Sheila's ears, have been trying, distraction, firm no and pulling her away. Sheila has stopped telling her off so we are needing some more ideas. I think that once Kiera starts to interact fully with other dogs It should stop but wonder since we still have a few weeks left that someone on here might have an idea meantime. Confused

That's a hard one, Star is 9 months and still does it to Libby, usually when she is running. She never tells him off either and many a time he has hurt her.

Yip Dora and Lizzy both do it to each other and many times i have heard them yelping not sure what to do to get them to stop i just leave them to it as i thought it was rough play.

Yeah I just let him do it and if Libby wants him to stop she will have to learn to stick up for herself.

Dale often plays with a young Lab. They play rough and she really tugs his ears. He yelps if it gets too much but usually doesn't seem to mind. I just assumed that they'd sort themselves out.

I am just worried as her ears are so long and with kieras teeth being sharp she could tear them or damage the cartilage plus sheila hates it and gets really fed up. going to try a combination of her come command using treats to see if we can distract her that way. we only just started that this morning so its worth a try. I wouldn't worry to much, Star's 7 brothers and sisters used to do it to each other all the time!!! never any real damage.

Margaret

you may wish to try putting Keira on a house line so that you can have some control of where she goes and what's she's doing, when you see her go for the ears you can stop her reaching and distract her as you have been doing. only put her on a house line when you can supervise her, they're really good and only cost about £2

we have tried that idea already Eleanor Sad
hasn't worked will batter on with the come command for now. I think Sheilas ears must look so exciting like a chew rope.

Perhaps she has realised that by biting Shielas ears........she gets attention from you.......even if it is getting into trouble you start to interact with her everytime she does it?

possible or could it be to get Sheila's attention also? as she generally just ignores her 24/7 they still have not bonded yet.
