We were just walking back up to the car after a manic Star and Libby run around when Stephen noticed Libby was covered in blood on her shoulder, we checked and and nothing. It was Star that was bleeding, looked like he had been bleeding for a while and having jumped all over Libby it had just wiped off on her. He seems to have pulled the fifth toe on his left paw so hard that its came away, we have managed to stop the bleeding just now but when he walks around it seems to open again. Hoping he won't need stitches Sad We will know tomorrow if it will heal on its own or if he will need the vet.

Thanks Margaret Smile we have plastered it on and it seems to be holding, but only because he is sleeping just now. Hopefully it will take. Only problem is he is like my shadow in the house and if I get he up he will follow. I usually love it but in this instance I feel I can't move Smile I've got Stephen running around after me just now so its not all bad Laughing

no probs Fiona, will hopefully keep it together for the night, and at least if it doesn't work will keep it clean until you can see a vet.

is this the dew claw you are talking about, (i know you said that it is the actual toe that has been hurt and not the claw). did he have his dew claw removed when he was a pup.

i must remember the vaseline idea it sounds good.

hope he is better by tomorrow.

Star is much better this morning Very Happy We separated Jake and Libby so he could get a bit of peace. He lay by the bed all night then when we let Jake and Libby out he started running around mental with Jake! Don't think we will bring Star and Jake on the walk today just in-case, but we will be there with Libby.

No kendal this pad is there by itself and is at the back of the leg (not quiet sure what it is called), It was bothering him last night but he is much better this morning Very Happy Jake was jumping all over him trying to get him up to play, once or twice he actually gave in but it just burst opened again so I decided to remove the temptation and put Libby and Jake in the kitchen for the night. I thought for a moment it was going to open again this morning coz when I opened the kitchen door Star went crazy playing around with Jake. It was ok though and looks to be healing nicely.

I'm pleased it seems to be getting a chance to heal without a trip to the vet.

Yeah its pretty deep and open but I have cleaned it and stuck a plaster on it. It doesn't seem to bother him until I start cleaning it and making a fuss Laughing
