Hi folks
I've noticed Huey shaking his head quite alot over the last few days and he did it loads this morning. Could this be the start of an ear infection?
Any tips or should i just get him to the vet....Again!! I noticed Kendal had recommended an ear cleaner but I'm thinking if the infection has all ready started this might not be a good idea.

personally i wouldn't run to the vet straight away.... kendal certainly raves about this stuff and our 4 have been fine. i would give alternatives a try first rather than shoot off to the vet!
our kitten is showing signs of a little eye infection so it is off to boots for me this morning for optrex for infected eyes......keep it in the fridge and after a few days he will be fine!......i try and keep vet bills to a minimum!......just a point if you are buying anything from a chemist for your dog/cat just don't tell them who it is for or they cannot sell it to you!
most of the meds that are issued by vets are also used for us adults and children......muffin recently got amoxicillin for the infection in her paw....which i have had for innes and his infected ears! _________________ Cockapoo's...a little of this, a little of that..........
the perfect combination!

have you had a look inside, are the waxy? get some cotton wool and some baby oil if you have it. put a small amount on the cotton ball and clean out his ears, that will let you know how waxy they are. _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk

They don't look waxy Kendal and it's just the usual dirt that comes out. I've given him a dose of the quistel this morning which he was not pleased about. He just keeps shaking his head although he wasn't as bad last night or this morning.
I'll give it a few days and see how he goes. He's always getting covered in sticky willies after running through the bushes so I'm wondering if one has worked its way into the ear.

just a though, does he get advocate or some sort of spot on that kills ear mites?? we have seen huge increase in ear mites in dogs coming into our work, might not be that at al, but is does cause excess dirt/wax in the ear. Uno had a wee ear infection there, i went to the vets got a £5 .oo bottle of anti inflammety ear drops and its worked, for once cheap and effective never usually say that about unos vet bills _________________ We are forever responsible for what we have tamed |

this may be a strange question but do dogs get colds??
he has had the odd sneeze and is doing a weird thing with his tongue like he is a lizard. Then last night he was feeling a bit sorry for himself and was making a strange noise like he was trying to cough or bring up flem.
