Well classes were noisy last night with the display at Broadwood.........a few anxious dogs.

How are your dogs coping with it?

John

Huey was good! This was his first experience of them. We live in smithstone so very close to the action. At first he was like huh? Whats that? Had one pace then lay down and munched on a carrot. Good thing about huey is food is always more interesting. He was panting later on after it was over. I put that down to the house being warm. Fingers crossed for tonight .

Alfie barking occasionally at the bangs but otherwise not too fussed. He's refusing point blank to walk in all this rain tho....he can be a stubborn little thing at times!!! Just avoiding taking him out while there r still fireworks going off just in case.

doing well had the back door open when i was making my dinner. Delta is a bit unsure and wont go in the garden on her own but will go out if i go out. took some treats out and got them all to sit, then just chucked a hand full in the air so they scattered in the garden and they went round eating them as the bangs went off. did that a couple of times in between seeing to my dinner.

i now have all 4 in the living room with my Delta is the only one lifting her head at the big bangs but then going back the sleep, so very pleased with them all, even the kitten doesn't seem bothered.

Hektor and Millie fine. They are both sleeping peacefully and going out in garden when they need without a fuss. Big change for me cos my last dog was a jelly, he used to be a quivering wreck. Long may this continue! Very loud bangs here in Whitelees

Buster was a lot better this year, he usually hides beside the back door but this time he stayed in the living room and got up and moved around a bit when there was a big bang. He was actually more upset when Jim went upstairs and started dismantling our wardrobe.

Lol stoner has done fine this year. We were advised since nothing else has worked with Muffy and her age to give her diazepam, she is one very chilled out doggy now. Tbh I dont think her hearing is quite what it used to be so that will have helped to. And Totts is more interested in crying for pups than fireworks *sigh* Ambers just her same mental self lol.

Hi all we had a quiet night with no fireworks as we stayed at The Days Inn at Abington Services, must have been a dog show somewhere or lots of scared dogs cos the place was over run with them. Next year i think it's just Molly and me as Cooper barked everytime he heard someone go past our room, hope tonight isn't to bad. Can't make class tomorrow so c u next week.

unfortunately as one of our lovely local yobs threw a firework at bubbles 2 weeks ago the past two nights have been terrible. I eventually had to partially sedate her last night. She won`t go out at night now either but I am trying my best to break her of this habit as we are now in winter and with my hours I very rarely get her out in the daylight

lynn stay positive with bubbles..... i know what she's like ..... and i also know you..... you can build her confidence back up again! all going well they will have died down completely by tuesday......and the sales of fireworks will cease after tomorrow!

jim innes and i went to the display in glasgow last night and it was fantastic and they way it should be!.....organised display! .............but still innes wasn't allowed a sparkler.......they are made up generally of potassium nitrate and can reach between 1800 to 3000 Degrees Fahrenheit.....a boiled kettle is 212 degrees fahrenheit (100 degrees celsius)..........why the hell would anyone want to give this to a child!
fireworks should be for companies only to organise and not for the general public to buy willy nilly! it's gun powder after all Shocked what the hell do we want to handle that for!

rant over......as you can tell i don't like them other than in displays!
