i dont understand why he continues to bark at class when clearly he can run around playing really well with all different dogs and walk past them at the park and not bother or bark.

i had high hopes for him on thursday to be back to normal after such a perfect week but he still barked and occasionally growled at class????????????????? WHY WHY WHY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyway will continue socialising and im really making him work for any kind of treat or attention at home too!!!

Got one of those 50ft training leads and his recall is really improving though he associates me shouting on him with something exciting happening coz when i shout on him he stops what hes doing but looks around first as if to say i know ur only shouting on me coz theres another dog about or a cyclist, child etc so ive made sure i recall also when there is nothing going on!!!!!!!! he is too oh I swore smart lol!!!!!!!

just to say that he never bothers now with people, kids, runners, cyclists but today he was going nuts in excitement at a boy on an electric scooter!!!!! he sometimes stares at moterbikes if there really noisy ones!!!!! oh and if someone else has a football he hasnt grasped the concept to leave it alone and that its not his, spent 10 mins literally dragging him along the street a few weeks ago to stop him chasing the football and taking me with him????? !!!!

as i was reading that all back i just thought to myself why an earth im i still paranoid when a runner, person, cyclist etc is passing if he has proved time and time again that he is ok and wont jump up etc - think its me that needs a training class not rambo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyway im clearly tired as im rambling a lot of rubbbish now lol i better go take him out again before bed!

night!

Ha ha love the pics. Got to say tho I love ur posts even more!!!! Makes me laugh cos it sounds exactly what I was like!!!!
I do still pop Alfie back on lead passengers joggers/cyclists cos he can't jump up (although he is slowly learning now the legs better much to my annoyance) but he likes to run alongside them. Can be a nightmare to get him back unless they stop cos he thinks it's great fun!! He is improving tho. Walking past people isn't a problem and I don't tend to bother cos worst that will happen is he'll go over to see them. But he still hasn't mastered passing dogs. On or off lead he lies down when they're about 10m away or so and won't budge then when they get nearer he either lies on his back or jumps up to play depending on the dog. He just will not learn to walk past nicely. No toy or treat will distract him! And for some silly reason when we do get past them he wants to go with them not me.....ah well. He is getting better, all his months not being allowed walked/off lead def set things back but never too late I guess!!
We have a play date today with my cousins 7 mth old lab so will see how that goes. He only plays well for about 10 mins then gets quite annoying usually. Hopefully she's big enough to put him in his place!!!

Rambo looks very handsome.....don't think I've met him yet Very Happy but glad to hear he is improving

Isn't it just the truth, that we need the training more than the dogs at times Rolling Eyes

just like to ramble on or should i say 'rambo' on sometimes lol!!!!

well 2day has been perfect - rambo got out the right side of 'OUR' bed this morning haha and has been superb! every command well maybe not 1st time but definatly 2nd time hahaha!!!

he went out a wee walk with his daddy then he amused himself in the other room as the smell of my hair dye was too much for him i think!!

then i took him back to bellahouston doggy park again although we had to wander for a while as 2 boxers were in it and their owner was shouting no dont come in there not good!! and right enough as we passed the fence they were scarily barking and kinda fighting with each other in the park in a rage looking at rambo!. anyway im not stupid and would never just walk in without checking 1st even with passers in the street i feel its only right to say is it ok if rambo says hi before letting him greet etc as some owners can be weird!!!!

walked around park and honestly must have passed 10-15 dogs rambo was on long line and i felt that 2day it was me that was wanting to greet the other dogs more than rambo!!! some he even ignored tho he did stop and look at them but just continued walking past. a dear sweet old man stopped with his spaniel to 'chat' about well nothing really ......the weather etc etc etc and rambo was like a spoiled child looking at me as if to say oh mum stop nattering and hurry up and play!!!!!!!! not even greeting the poor wee spaniel!! Laughing

eventually got in the dog park and he played around with diesel a collie i think (im soooo rubbish at knowing breeds, i know like 10 breeds and whenever i come back and tell his dad who we met its ALWAYS one of the 10 breeds that i know lol!!!) diesel isnt a very playful dog in terms of playing ball or fetch so it really tested rambo's 'come and play with me' barking.

i kept him on long line even in enlosed bit and when he did give a wee bark at diesel i just reeled him in like a fishing rod and firmly tugged him saying no barking. he tried to bark 3 times and considering as i said diesel wasnt the slightest bit interested in playing i felt that was really good of rambo.

came home and rambo went straight in the bath Smile

slept for a while or so we thought but oh no he had taken a parcel that id left on the table (id bought him a knot rope ball from ebay but wasnt planning on giving it to him untill i was going to work on monday!) had tore it open and was caought in the act by his dad running around with it!!!! cheeky little bleep bleep bleep!!!!

ah well thats about it for 2days shenanigans!!!! though 2mrw is a whole new day - wonder what mishief he'll get up 2 2mrw Very Happy

some nice pictures. lol my favourite one is the one with luke and skye and rambo(i have to be biased towards my pups)lol . luke was ever so behaved. i was proud as punch when we left bellahouston that day. he never barked or was aggressive towards another dog at all.. i love it when my dogs behave. lol was nice for the dogs to run around together and me not having to worry that they would run away and get hurt. xxx
