Hi Janis

Forgot to ask last night - how long does the liver cake keep for, if stored in the fridge? I'm going to use it as a "high value" treat, so may not get through it as quickly as more ordinary snacks.

It's already a big hit with Carrie! She was all round me when I was cutting it into small pieces to put into her treat box, and literally races towards me when I call her with a bit of it in my hand. Also much less crumbly than the shop-bought equivalent, which tends to just disintegrate if you try to break it up.

our for the fridge you are talking 2 days max, in the fridge about a week maybe a little longer, in the freezer iv still go some that we keep for our lot in the dogs meet freezer and its been their for a couple of months i just take a handful with me when out on a walk.

so its just a case of working out how much you use, and working out how much to leave where.

the warmer the place it is left the faster it will go off, but thats the same as any food.

Thanks Kendal. Hadn't thought of freezing it. That's a good idea.

Love the idea of your dogs having their own meat freezer! They're lucky pups!

Not sure what its called, up the back of westfield
, near the Barrs factory.

No they get it defrosted. We also make liver cakes for the ferrets as they love them too.

Anyone got any recipes for a good liver cake substitute? unfortunately liver seems to be about the only thing that doesn't agree with Huey's stomach. I think it's too rich for him it's not pretty afterwards!

Would have to be something squishy that smells awesome? Huey obviously not me Razz

All suggestions welcome. Might have a rainy weekend Cook off

thanks

Frankie
