Hi
Just want to thank Kendal/Lesley for putting up with Tia on the walk around Broadwood, we do the walk at least three times a week and she is perfect we can practice our sit/stays and enjoy a nice stroll......but when the girls are there she is murder, no focus ..no control and just seems to want to through herself at the cockapoos... LOL
Thanks again guys we are sure if we persevere she will calm down ???? _________________ Alice & Susan & Princess Tia

Don't stress. Alfie wasn't exactly great last night but I'm using the excuse that his itchy skin was bothering him. He seemed to alternate between walking great, stopping to scratch and launching himself at Tia for kisses/bites!!
I def think the group walks r a good idea. I was out with Alfie earlier today and a boxer ran over to us and because it was a bit bouncy (but lovely) alf was petrified and running away, yelping every time it tried to sniff him. I don't know why some dogs hefinds fine and others he's awful with. Met my neighbour with the spanielsthis morning and he loves them, sniffing around 2 mins then just wanderig ignoring them like a normal dog. Tia's great when any dogs run by....we're still working on that one so hopefully that will rub off!! She just loooves those cockapoos tho!!!
I think it's always worth trying with them, they will get there....just typical stubborn staffies!

Carrie is just the same with wee dogs when out and about. Can be a total nightmare. The smaller they are, the more desperate she is to get acquainted...
Strangely though, when she hangs out with the cockerpoo girls before class, she is usually pretty calm, so I find this a really good opportunity to socialise her with smaller dogs. Thank goodness for the before class "meet and greet"! - even if her behaviour in the class leaves a lot to be desired (which it usually does!), I feel that she has at least had a positive experience of contact with other dogs before and after, which she rarely gets in other situations.
Sadly, I think it will be months, if not years, before she can come along to the group walks again...!

come along any time, the only way she will get used to it is if you do it more.
the thing about the walks if that we help each other out, the broadwood walk is all on lead so she wont have any of my lot running around getting her exited, she will learn to walk with the other dogs.
so feel free to come along any night, are you free on Friday as im going to put up a walk for Friday(weather permitting) _________________ microchiping and grooming www.chipnclip.co.uk
