Tick Twisters.
They are tiny green plastic sticks with a hook on the end. The hook goes round the tick and you just twist. They come off very easily and seem to get all the legs. Just been using mine on dale. I got it on holiday but I'm sure pet shops here will have them as well.Cost about £2/£3.

we have been lucky two. but i decided to do some research on them just after i joined the forum when you put up the warning about ticks. as far as i am aware this is the safest, easiest and most effective tick removal product out. will probably get one at some point to just in case.

John, any chance the club could buy a few so members could purchase them from the club?

I think we should all have them.. there's more ticks every year thanks to warmer winters.

Sheryl, we've never paid a vet to remove a tick. We've always done it but without the aid of this little gadget which I am now going to buy because it makes it soooooooooooo easy!!!!!
There's nothing really gross about them honestly. It's a hard shell nothing squidgey of horrible. If you had one of these and could take one off in a second, why pay £30 and stress your dog out by going to the vet in the first place?
