Cara will not lie down!
I have tried everything from making her follow a bit of food to actually placing her in the lie postion!
Does anyone have any idea or suggestions on how i can make her do it?
Thanks

When you are stroking her, does she like to lie down? Does she sometimes lie down when she's playing?
If she does, then when you're stroking or playing with her and she's lying down, praise her and give her a treat and add the command "down" in a low voice to the action.
If she's interested in toys, try and play with her on the floor and do he above when she's lying down and eventually teach her that she'll only get the toy when she's in the "down" position.
Hopefully she'll realise that if she's lying down, whether she's been commaned to or out of her own free will, will gain her toys, treats and attention from you!
Good luck. |

I will try that i think she's more likely to lie down when i stroke her because she lost interest in toys when Minnie came along _________________ Elizabeth and Cara

Maybe you could spend some time with her own her own without Minnie to see if you can get her interested in toys again, she may just enjoy it. Then you could spend some time with Minnie on her own so she doesn't feel left out. |

When she's lying down, say the "down" command a few times, followed by "good girl" a few times and some tasty high value treats that she likes.
If she gets the hang of this, you could also start thinking about adding a hand signal, such as a direct point to the floor, aswell as saying the command "down" in a low, firm voice, followed by praise if she does it correctly. But stick with the voice commands first until she gets to grips with that before adding hand signals. Don't want to confuse her! |

Try to sit yourself on the floor and angle your knees. Than make her crawl underneath with a treat and in the second she is in the perfect position she gets that treat and loads of praise. Try to not touch her, she will go into the right position by herself and will have a feeling of success without help!
Hope that was understandable _________________ "It is possible to live without a dog, but it is not worth it."
