God I have quite the opposite problem, with Kai he goes to a down position even if I ask him to sit He always wants to go down. Its not as if he's being lazy either. We're forever practicing but its he's not any better. |

Well guys, all of this motivated me to work extra hard on Murphy the past few days trying to get him to lie down.... and guess what... he can do it now! I feel it was harder to get him to do it than Holly since when he just put his front down I couldnt really touch his back end to get it to go down, like I done with Holly!
But... he can do it now so I am very happy. Sometimes I need to ask him a few times, but I know fine well he knows what I am asking of him. Very pleased with my good self... and Murphy too! _________________ Ashley with Holly & Murphy.
I hope to one day be as great as my dog thinks I am right now!! |

Murphy was very stubborn!!
Something someone else said about it being a very subbmissive position got me thinking though....
Murphy sometimes tries to be quite dominant, so I thought that me standing over the top if him prob wasnt the right idea. So I sat on my knees... still keeping as tall as I could. When I said "down"... I crouched down a bit too... but still remaining above him!! Didnt work the first few times,... but he got it in the end. I can do it now standing up!!
Easier to do with a smaller dog mind you as you can crouch down quite far and still be above them!!!
Dodge is just a stubborn wee boy sometimes! Im sure he knows exactly what it is you want him to do. Bet he's laughing inside!! _________________ Ashley with Holly & Murphy.
